BURGLAR CAUGHT IN THE ACT AND HELD AT GUNPOINT

Charles Daniel was caught in the act of breaking and entering and burglary at the home of Ronnie Guy on Newburg Road. Apparently Daniel thought no one was home at the time, however there was a woman present who hid when she saw Daniel kicking in the back door. She attempted to call Ronnie at work at Jen-Eric Computers. At the time Ronnie was out of the office installing new computer wiring at the new Haleyville Middle School.

A friend, Matt Behel who happened to be at Jen-Eric Computers, took the call and went to Ronnie's house knowing he could get there sooner than Ronnie. Matt found Charles Daniel still at the house and held him at gunpoint until Haleyville Police officers Rodney Lewis and Jason Williams could arrive. Daniel was arrested and transported to the Winston County jail. Daniel is known to have committed burglary at least twice before in the Haleyville area.
